The GMC Performance Black Chrome Exhaust Tip features stealthy styling and enhanced engineering to keep it looking sharp for years to come. Built from 304 stainless steel with a Black Chrome coating, each 3-inch Black Chrome Exhaust Tip has been validated to resist corrosion and discoloration while maintaining the New Vehicle Limited Warranty. Proven through on-vehicle testing under maximum payload, operating temperatures of over 572°F and extreme corrosion chamber testing equivalent to 5 years, and a 2-hour thermal heat soak at ~392°F, you can count on the Black Chrome Tip to look great season after season.

GM Engineers performed 25 cycles of 3-stage corrosion chamber testing to validate the Stainless Steel Exhaust Tip. The test includes 8 hours of an ambient stage with a 1% complex salt spray, 8 hours of a humid stage and 8 hours of a dry-off stage to replicate extreme conditions and validate each tip for resistance to discoloration and corrosion. Additionally, the tips are subjected to a 2-hour thermal heat soak at ~392°F for discoloration evaluation.
The chrome process helps bond the Black coating to the metal better than alternate coating processes, which helps with corrosion resistance and discoloration.
