Yes. Chevrolet/GMC Accessories Rocker Protectors are required for installation of the Removable Assist Steps. These Removable Assist Steps will only attach to these Rocker Protectors.
The assist steps are attached using a bolt into a stanchion on each Chevrolet/GMC Accessories Rocker Protector (sold separately). There are two bolts per step that attach using U-nuts (self-retaining fasteners that provide an easy and fast attachment).
These assist steps can be removed by unscrewing the two bolts per step while leaving the U-nuts on the Rocker Protector.
Replacement attachment kits are available through participating dealers.
